Before Your Morning Cup of JAVA…
Have you had your morning brew yet? Hold on; I have something I want to share with you that can make that cup of JAVA or tea that much more satisfying.
Before we get to the good stuff, take a look at what inspired me to write this blog.
I’ve been observing the
chaos and confusion in the news and people’s lives lately. Crises of one kind or another seem to be more the norm. Clients tell me they’re experiencing frustration, fear, worry, increased demands and stress at work and home, as well as concerns about money and job security.
These can be tough times. The world is constantly changing and with it are the challenges we face to keep up.
So what do you do?
It’s times like this that coping skills are crucial. When alone, with no one looking, how are you dealing with the issues at hand? When others are becoming overly emotional and frantic, do you stay calm? Do you have the ability to stay the course when the things go array, and you have to “show up” for your job or the sake of the children?
There are lots of stress management coping skills I can teach you that are simple, quick, yet highly effective. But, there is something much more important to share with you now, that will kick off your day, leaving you with better balance, feeling empowered, and positive. Some of you may already be doing this in part or your version of this.
In my opinion, the ability to endure adversity, keep emotions and fears in check, stay in charge of your thoughts and emotions and remain calm when people and circumstances around you are not, starts with being aligned with your Soul and connecting to a Greater and Higher Source than yourself. Let this be your “Light House”. If you start your day unwavering and robust, you’re already ahead of most people. When things head south, you head for your “Light House”, bringing more stability into your life when things seem most unstable.
My clients come to me with a variety of concerns: internal issues, blocks, family situations, problems at work, fatigue, anxiety, stress, depression, burnout, and the list goes on. Coping by getting centered and stable physically and mentally, and maintaining emotional balance is key to moving past these matters.
As soon as I wake up and open my eyes, I sit at the edge of my bed or go into my meditation room and do this protocol as part of my morning routine. I also do this regime nightly, before going to bed for a more peaceful and deeper sleep.
Try this:
1) Go to a quiet room with good ventilation, where no one will disturb you. Sit with your hands on your lap and your spine erect. Be aware of a point at your navel and breathe slowly and deeply for a couple of minutes. Now, bring your awareness to a point at the center of your chest and the top of your head. Again, breathe slowly and deeply. Once relaxed, align to your Soul and then to Source. Continue breathing slowly and rhythmically until you feel balanced and empowered.
Every morning, align to that which creates a positive, grounded and safe feeling. This alignment can bring a deeper sense of inner strength and courage to conquer the day. Experiment with methods that work best for you, whether it be meditation, contemplation, visualization, prayer, or some other preference.
2) Next, spend a few minutes being grateful for everything in your life. Include things that pushed you out of your comfort zone. Regardless how uncomfortable these “pushes” are, look for lessons in them – they can help you grow. Begin by being grateful for all the people, things and situations close to you and then expand your gratitude to other areas.
For instance, appreciate and express gratitude to Source; then, your spouse, children, and parents; then friends, co-workers, etc. As you move further out of your circle of influence, spend time expanding your sphere of gratitude, perhaps, to a friendly stranger that made you smile, or being able to smell the fragrance of flowers, or having eyes to see the rays of the sun. You get the idea.
Start every day, with these simple steps. You’ll experience a better attitude, feel stronger and will be better able to focus on the day ahead.
I hope this inspires you to enjoy the ride of your life! Let me know how you’re doing with this protocol or anything else you want to share by clicking on the comments tab. I will personally respond. Remember to Like and Share this message with your friends, family, and co-workers.
